Skybox F5 Mismatch OFF!!

Guys

I've downloaded the latest F5 firmware from the cc site, and via USB I get a file mismatch error.

So I looked into it and read that it can be when a firmware has been loaded that does not allow for USB updating etc, and you should use serial.

I downloaded and tried the LAN update first. I connected fine, it uploaded the fw...then the same, file mismatch error.

I have now downloaded the RS232 tools and am trying to upload the new fw but it wont work for me. All I ever get from the tool is "Synchronising STBs please reset target!".

I've reset and rebooted more than once and it goes no further. When I disconnect the cable after waiting way too long...the box reboots and carries on as normal.

Can anyone pleeeeeease suggest what i'm doing wrong and how I can update the FW on this thing?

I then found this site hddvbsw.c*m which had a different and older firmware upgrade 14/1/2013 also with a different string or code than the other two suppliers, but this flashed my box okay.
I really dont know why but suspect my box may be a clone?

clone/faulty box if you update via rs232 it will put it into bootloop. the only firmware that will work on it is the one it come with SEND IT BACK

I dont have any issues with my maybe cloned F5 box working okay, only thing is that I cannot install original firmware.
Last night I down loaded and installed latest firmware SKYBOX F5 _3601HD_CMT_130327.abs (8.4.2013) from HDDVBSW.C** and again upgraded okay, fixed Utube and channel scrambled etc.

Yeah it turned out to be. I've used the other updated firmware for my box from this........ originally posted .......
