skybox wifi f5

hi got a skybox f5 tried connecting with a skybox wifi usb am with talktalk it will not connect tried WPA/WPA2 mixed mode and WPA2 mode only still no joy talktalk router HG523a when i put password in says time out can any1 help please

make sure you use a proper dongle with skybox on it about ?6 on fleabay. i was given one free with my f5 no skybox on it(small one with no aerials on it) it was totally rubbish would connect now and again the drop out and would not connect again due to time outs. make sure you choose wpa2-psk (aes) for security. goodluck but the proper skybox one connects no probs at all. if you know its a bit of a blackspot for wifi where the box is going go for the one with the aerial on it you get a slight better reception

thanks m8 just got it on in the room were the router is but it would not work upstairs it was the 1 with no aerial on but had skybox on it i have ordered the aerial 1 will try the tomorrow and post back it worked on WPA/WPA2 mixed mode aswell it must vary on different routers

Does the skybox remember wifi settings or do they have to be manually input after power down of router/skybox?

The box remembers your wifi settings after it connects up for the first time, each time you reboot after that it will automatically connect to your router that you have entered the password for.

I have both an F3 & F5 running here using those dongles with no issues, thoroughly recommend these dongles, best quality at a great price. AFAIK the F3 & F5 are pretty similar boxes, in fact i have both mine running the same firmware and channel lists and all is good
