Openbox S11 no picture

Hi, after 8 months my Openbox S11 seems to failing. Not very reliable these things.

Although the box always boots up as you can see the channels changing via its lcd display, it doesn't always show a picture. About 1 out of 10 attempts the box will output a picture.

It seems like HDMI is failing.

Is this a known issue with this box and is there a DIY fix?

(I've contacted ebay seller and he's ignoring me now even though I bought it new under 'buy it now' so should come with a 12 month warranty.)

Hi

I know these boxes do have the hdmi failure now and again but before you assume that just try a different hdmi lead and possibly even another hdmi port on your telly.

Try scart or phono to see if that works,

Hi guys, when the HDMI fails to output picture the SCART is still outputting the picture.

I have replicated the problem with different HDMI cable and different HDMI port on TV.

Therefore its definately the HDMI on the openbox on its way out.

Any known fix for this?

Try wiggling the port on the back of the box, I had this issue on a S9 lifting it up worked

Looks like a fairly common fault with these boxes.

I have seen 3 S11's on Ebay over the past couple of weeks with no HDMI output.

No that didn't work.

My HDMI completely failed.

These boxes are shite, I have even seen the newer models have the same problem. They are cheap, but for a reason. I thought that reason was software, but its cheap hardware too.

If anyone knows a HDMI diy fix please post.
