skybox f3 and rs232 cable help

i have a skybox f3 and rs 232 cable wont connect i have heard if both pin match 2-2 3-3 etc this is why and my cable is pins 1-1 2-2 etc any idea how i could re wire thank you

you need a NULL modem serial cable db9f under two quid off fleabay

i have found a cross over diagram am i right in sayin the rs 232 need to me a crossover?

i have bought one of them but pc wont talk to skybox i think the wiring is wrong

yeah but i have come across another db9 cable diagram and 1 and 9 doesnt get used

i believe it only uses 2 pins anyway but cannot remember where i saw it or what the pins are but my cable worked
