I think it's the syk boxes that do something dodgy. Seems that when I remove them all works perfect.. This has been the case in a few houses...

I never said it wasn't i just said i have never needed to fit one and the only logical place to fit one is on a high rise and not a standard 2 story dwelling, Two prong power cord have you had a look recently on how many electrical items actually only have a live an neutral it more than you think and most A/V items dont have an earth anymore even the ones with moulded plugs your whole electrical wiring in the house should be grounded to a fashion if it was not i would be very worried.

where I live it is actually part of the building electrical code that dates back to the old tv antenna on the roof days.
Coax shield should be earth ground,which it isn't with 2 prong receivers with switching power supplies(I just ohmed the power cord out to verify)
Some people even ground the coax at the dish itself,but for me that is overkill.
Notice the people with problems always have the receivers in different rooms on different power outlets.

I said it earlier and I'll say it again, change your LNB for a different make of one,you'll probably be alright then...

I remember this problem being reported before with a certain make of Sky quad LNB, cant remember which flavour but, swapping for a different make of LNB is the fix...

Its the Zinwell brand that cause the problems, seen it a few times
