External Hard Drive for Skybox F5???

Hi 2nd post, so hopefully will get as quick a response as last time.

I am unsure as to what Hard drive to connect to my skybox to allow for recording / live pause etc, assuming I am right that the box can do it?.

I have read that it is possible to connect an eSATA drive but this may require accessing the motherboard? Can someone confirm, failing that its a USB connection to the drive. On another note when considering it only has 1 USB drive, is it possible to use a multi block allowing for other USB's to be plugged in at once?

Lots of question but I am on a steep learning curve. But enjoying every minute.

    Thanks in advance.

Mate in terms of speed you need something that is USB 3, to be honest the F5 is an entry level box and really is not good at the functions you have suggested you want to do. If you want to pause, record etc then you need to be looking at something like thE VU+ Duo2, costs more money but does all the things you want and more.

Thanks for that. Will persevere a little longer then splash out on one. But thanks for taking the time to respond.

                Hi willarikk,

Before you go splashing out on another box or even trying to mod one with an esata connection try an external powered USB hard drive in the F5 and see if it is capable of the things you want it to do, If not at least you tried sell it and put te money towards a receiver that does fulfil what you need.

                Regards
