Hi there guys does anyone know the best video resolution to have on an x3 box when using just scart lead not an Hd lead? I know the hd one now is meant to be 1080i 50 and by using scart the picture will just scale down. But the picture on this old set which is one of those big massive 40 odd inch from about 15 years and its just displaying as widescreen on all channels. Even when on auto, so should I get him to change the video resolution to something else maybe 480 or 500 something?. Many thanks for any replys

Try adjusting the Aspect Ration on TV and the box. 16.9 - 4.3.Hi there guys does anyone know the best video resolution to have on an x3 box when using just scart lead not an Hd lead? You'd be better off having a large 4:3 TV showing letterbox widescreen rather than cropped output to 4:3... You lose so much picture cropping widescreen to fill a 4:3 screen, years ago they used to make sure no important stuff was outside the 4:3 area of widescreen broadcasts, nowadays they dont.Comment

as Nibblitz stated nearly all programmes today are filmed in a 16:9 aspect ratio so this would appear on a 4:3 TV with bars top and bottom this is normal.
As for the resolution adjustment through scart its not possible Scart can only display a maximum resolution of 576i so changing iot in the menu has no bearing on the scart ouput its there for resolution change through HDMI only.
