Looking for advice on one that works fine with the M3, tried a cheap one from maplins but was grainy, I've seen other that work fine but for the life of me can't remember the make.
They all output pretty much the same quality, no matter what make/model of modulator you have...
If you're seeing a badly degraded picture on your TV then its probably down to signal loss along the way from modulator to TV, which will all depend on the length, type & quality of the coax going through your walls.. To verify this, connect the modulator direct to a TV with a a short lead rather than using coax feeds through the walls..
If it is signal loss causing you a poor RF picture then you could try adding a cheap TV booster just after the modulator to give amplification to the modulated signal sent around your house..
I have tried all of the main brands of the RF modulator and the best which incorporates magic eye functionality is the Triax Tr-Link it also happens to be the dearest

Ive just used this only 1 hour ago....! Picture perfect.
Cheer guys, not bothered about the magic eye aspect. Just a decent picture.
Sounds like a losing battle.
Why a losing battle? Like I said earlier, dont dismiss your current modulator as crap until you're sure its not your cabling affecting your picture quality, otherwise you could just be wasting your money if you simply buy a different modulator..
hello, your skybox is giving hd at your main tv.....the rest is uhf ,never going to be as good picture ... might be cheaper to get 2nd skybox and only use one at a time (if u are using same cline)
Should have worded my last post better, posting half asleep aint my strong point.
The box supplied by sly isn't hd and is sending a decent picture out fine via the RF out, the last time I tried using the RF modulator to send the signal via sky/openbox the picture was seriously degraded.
Make sure your modulator isnt set to use a channel within the same channel group (band) as freeview is on in your area... So for example, if freeview is Group A in your area, set your modulator to use channel 60, or if freeview is group c/d then set your modulator to use channel 26.... So basically, make sure your modulator is not using a channel anywhere near a freeview channel...
