Skybox F5 - Adding Satellites Problem

Hi Guys,
I am a newbie to Digital Kaos but I have dabbled with sat systems for some time now . Having jumped on the Skybox F5 bandwaggon I have encountered a problem that I hope someone can help me with - if the topic has been raised before then I apologise - I couldnt find anything.
I have setup all my sats on my motorised dish which was a straight forward thing to do - however when I tried to add a satellite to the satellite list - Hispasat 30W (which isnt in the default sat list ) I can set the postion and scan and save the channels etc.
However, when I view the satellite list using the "sat list" button on the remote it does not appear to be listed. It does not appear even if I just edit an existing one in the default list.
Does anyone know of any fix for this, or is it a firmware glitch. I didnt have the problem on the F3.

I think it may be a firmware problem as I have just bought an F3.

It didn't have the problem at first with Oct 2012 firmware but I loaded the Jan 2013 issue and now have the same problem as you that the sat list does not display added sats by using the sat list or zoom buttons (the zoom button doesn't work as a zoom!)

he satellite and stored channels are however in there but you need to do a group search to get them to display and to edit etc

Bit inconvenient and hopefully there will be a firmware update to fix soon

Yeah I did the same with the F3 I had - swapped the firmware back to the older version and it was fine. Maybe just another long wait for a bug fix I think.

I had this problem on my M3, to resolve it I deleted all channels, then deleted all sats, rebooted, and started from scratch loading channel list and adding other satellites... I can only assume the memory got its nickers in a pickle.

I GOT A LOAD OF F5 SKYBOXES AS THEY WERE NEWER ,WHAT A LOAD OF RUBBISH..!!!! THE RF UNITS INSIDE OF THEM ARE NO GOOD HENCE THE PROBLEMS OF ( NO SIGNEL, OR MISSING CHANNELS,ECT...) WILL SCAN AND FIND CHANNELS BUT WILL MISS A FEW. WHEN PUTTING NEW 360 HD FIRMWARE OR TRY NEW TP PROG SOFTWARE USING USB TO UPLOAD,YOU WILL STILL
GET THE SAME PROBLEMS, UNTILL IT WONT WORK AND THEN YOU HAVE TO USE RS232 CABLE TO REFLASH TO GET IT TO BOOT AGAIN. IVE DUMP ALL THE NEWEST FRIMWARE AND TPS AND STILL NO GOOD. This is of interest because I was going to buy an F5 to replace my old Technomate 6900HD non-Super. Cannot open that many channels now. F3, F5 etc. are cheap and it seems have good picture quality but no good with the problems you describe. So what is a good and cheap box? It is best just to spend the extra and get a VU+Solo or even a new Technomate? Any advice would be great.

Hi Chippan
I had a similar problem where the last satellite scanned would not appear in the list. To get around this I put a 'dummy' satellite (I used 45W) to the list and now 30W shows on the list but 45W doesn't.

hi guys ive got the same problem, ive put 6 sats, in sat list and only 4 are showing,if I press all sats on the remote it then shows all 4000+ channels,ive got 24.01.13 abs file on and aj,s channel list on.hope its fixed on next upgrade.
