- Hi, F3 box keeps rebooting itself, I've searched around and I'm led to believe it's a software issue. There is an update which apparently fixes the rebooting glitch but I'm reluctant to flash firmware as I don't want to lose channel list and gift. Is there a way to backup channel list including favorites and gift so I can restore after the update? TThanks

it could also be a power issue,your internal power supply inside the box could have a fault by slight drop in power,indicating a faulty power supply,if the box was bought recently get in touch with supplier for an exchange,as reflashing box may not solve problem,but may void any return..Last edited by tony2803; 20 March, 2013, 03:12. -

Overriding software on box will cause the box rebooting now and then even if you default the box you will still have the problem.
Just flash the box using Serial RS232 Null modem Cable with the latest software.
Tools owned: Hammer, Chisel, Crowbar, Punch, Chainsaw, Cutter and Brain!!!

I had same problem but after downgrade to firmware prior youtube app ( 120920 ) everything works fine. And during downgrade you can tick to keep all settings.Comment

There is an official update to fix reboot glitch so I highly doubt it's a hardware issue. I can send it back but I'd rather update to see if it solves the problem before considering returning.
A guide on how to back up gift and channel list/favourites so I can restore after update would be appreciated.Comment

Stick a mem stickt in and dump everything to the stick. Check on your computer you have it all then upload the new software to the box.
To check you line file on computer right click on it and open with notepad or wordpad.
The attached file is stable with everything including channel list. Just needs a patsy.Comment

I have had a few like this, updating the software will work sometimes but if this doesnt fix it the motherboard is faulty and you need to return it to sellerComment

i have a same problem to.. and try to flash with usb to rs232 cable...
1. my skybox f3 in off mode
2. plug rs232 cable from skybox to pc (my skybox posision on off mode)
3. open tools for upgrade with rs232 cable from SkyBox | SkyBox
4. select port and browse file .abs and choise last upgrade firmware from SkyBox | SkyBox to..
5. stick the include bootloader file and next..
6. after that "please resset target" and i turn on my skybox f3 with back switch power..
7. aaaaannnndddd.... stuck... try again... stuck... (my skybox f3 still continous restart and the upgrade software not change )
any one can help me ?
