    skybox f5 signal problem ?

skybox f5, was fully working upto 2 days ago.

now most channels are not watchable because of the glitching picture quality and squeeking noise.
signal strength starts off at 75 then drops till either picture quality is rubbish or until i get no signal.
THIS EVEN HAPPENS ON FTA CHANNELS!, all channels are like this...
this is the only box in my house and the sky + box is not in use.
    any ideas?

But is your Sky+ box still connected to the dish?

If yes, have a read of this thread

So your Sky+ box has no Satellite cables plugged into the back of it... Is your F5 in the same location as your Sky+ Box, is it using the same feeds that work ok on your Sky+ box? When did you last check the signal on your Sky+ box?

Try a different firmware on the F5 and also maybe worth while updating or changing the channel list

problem sorted. (kinda embarrased to tell you how)

was thinking because of the recent bad weather if the dish had moved......so i hung out the top widow and whacked the dish with a brush..... picture quality is great again

I guessed it was gonna be your dish, but assumed you might have tried the brush trick already...

sometimes, with all this new technology and exciting new ways to watch TV, a good old 99p brush helps solve problems!

Hi just wondering if anyone can help with my no signal issue.
I had both the F5 and sky hd box running fine on a sky minidish. Then two days ago I started getting signal problems on the f5. Now I get no signal at all on the f5, but both signal inputs are fine on the sky hd box. I've disconnecting the sky box and trying each of the twin wires on the f5 to no avail.

Has anyone else had this issue or anyone got any ideas?

                  Thanks

Sounds very much like another suspect LNB problem

even though the inputs both work on the sky hd box?

Yes precisely, I had a few Zinwell quads in the past that caused massive problems for the openbox S9 so although it works fine with the official receiver does not apply to a 3rd party box, if you have a quad and have a free port try changing it over and see if that cures it.

There's been nothing but problems with the F5 Skyboxs, losing singal, or missing channels, not getting the full sky channel listings, I retail boxes ect.. and got some F5 in from china, about 8 weeks ago, ive had nothing but problems with all of them, I never had a problem with the F3 skybox, good units. I though i try the F5's as they were newer, What A Big Mistake....... Before the word gets out , get rid of your box. Ive tryed every firmware out there to get these units to work ok. but still no joy.

Took delivery of one on Monday and have flashed firmware 3 times to date, installed 3 channel lists and still can't get signal for mainstream channels to work! Plenty of no signal messages to boot
