skybox f5 set up, the things you need to know

Hi Mate, got to thank all you guys for your brilliant help. Sorry to be pain but I'm not receiving all HD sports or movie channels, would someone be kind enough to explain how to do a transponder/Full scan?

Hi pulling my hair out here, not much left anyway.
i have put sat cable in correct place (not loop)
installed AJ's llist bought 1 month cline..
can see channel list but any I select I get No Signal...
I've googled and tried various options including factory reset reinstall and reboots but always get the same...

if I do a Single Satellite Search should it be finding my channels? Help!

In the settings is LNB power set to on, is your dish pointing in the right direction, for single sat scan is the name of the satellite there or more importantly the position 28.2e if it is and you get no channels scanned then either your dish is not pointing in the right direction or a faulty LNB.

ps if it is only scrambled channels you are having problems with then it could be your internet connection or you might not have activated your gift.

I struggled a bit more and finally took the plunge and upgraded the firmware on my f5 hoping that I have not purchased a clone.
fingers crossed it installed fine and rebooted.
I did a single satellite scan without loading a channel list.
All sky channels are now accessible to me.
The new firmware interface is quite different and I am yet to find out where I add my cline details.
Anyone else upgraded ...

btw I put the box on top of my old sky + box with one line in sky and one in f5 , belt and braces job for now.

With some firmware you need to press 6666 while in the menu to bring up the Network options. (or it may be 8888, I can never remember).

Did you also have your Sky+ box connected previously when you got "no signal" problems?

Hi, I have just got this Skybox F5S and I have been trying to upload ................ but telling me file mismatched. Please can you tell me which file format i need to convert ....................... into before putting it on my flash drive? thanks

Yes it can mate, format your usb stick to fat32, plug it into the the box and enter menu, i think it is settings; there is an option to dump to usb. select that and dump. then save it somewhere on your comp for safe keeping

Third time asked in different threads and 3 of the same answer. If you do a "Dump" it will not wipe your existing files it just copies them to the USB Stick very similar to doing a backup on your PC.
