skybox f5 not working, thought was dead but dim red led lighting up

hi all, came home to find out that my skybox f5 was not working. thought it was dead. power supply working fine. opened up the receiver only to find out that the receiver does actually receive power as the red led lights up very faintly. cannot see red led through front black fascia so had to remove from fascia.

has anyone come across this before? any solution to rectify the problem.
