    Thanks for the info Hadron.

I checked last night and a lot of the V channels are missing (not all though). As it is picking up some v channels and has picked up the others in the past (such as ESPN) is there anything I can do such as buying a new quad lnb?

I'll try 12607 v 27500 tonight and also Discovery HD. Play have a quad lnb for around ?5 - is that around the normal price to pay? Is there a particular type of quad lnb that I need? When replacing it is at as simple as getting access to the dish and taking the current one off and putting the new one in its place? Are they easy to take off and put on?

Do you have a S l y dish (wider than it is high)? If so then the Zinwell/Visiblewave LNB's are the standard type that are used on these dishes. A year or 2 ago they were also selling on Ebay for around ?5. Not sure of the current prices.

I don't have a S l y dish myself, but I believe that the latest LNB's for sale (Mk4 types) only fit a Mk4 dish, unless you use an adapter.

It's strange that you can still get some V transponders but not others.

My dish currently has a sky + (not hd) as well as the openbox s11 linked to it. Last night I turned off the sky box and did a blind scan on the openbox and now I can see every channel. As soon as I power the sky + box back on then I lose the channels again. There is a fix on ebay for around ?9 that goes into the back of the openbox that says it will fix this problem. Is this the way I should go or should I buy a new lnb quad?

That depends on how you have connected your openbox, the solution from ebay will work if you are using a different feed from the lnb then the sky+ box, if however you have it in a loop through from the sky+ box then it won't.
The trouble is that sky install lnb's that work at a low voltage and the output from the openbox is higher therefore causing problem the solution is just a capacitor in line with the cable from your lnb dropping the voltage going to the lnb, if you do buy a new lnb it is not a low voltage like sky's.

As mahrkpat says, if you have your S11 linked to your S l y + box via the loopthrough, then that is your problem. There is a conflict between the boxes trying to control the LNB switching circuits.

There are some problems with some Openbox/LNB combinations where the Vertical voltage to the LNB is too high, & causes it not to switch. The fix you found on Ebay simply puts a diode in the signal line to the LNB & reduces the voltage (some also put a capacitor across the diode to maintain signal levels). If you have your S11 connected straight to it's own connection on the LNB, I cannot see why you don't get this problem all the time though.

Another possibility is that the S l y + box is causing some interference. If it's an old white Thomson box, then they are well known for having capacitor problems which could cause it's PSU to put out lots of RF noise.

I have a different feed so hopefully the fix on ebay will resolve my issue. Thanks for all your help.

You could make your own, if you have the bits (post 28):-
