The chances are it is pointing at 19.2e, so I would try moving the dish Eastwards a bit more (to the left looking from behind the dish, or to the right when looking from the front).

I would be tempted to get the "specialist" back to align it correctly. He should have known what satellite you wanted!

When I aligned my dish I used the satellite director it is simple to use:
      1.switch on the app
      2.choose satellite tab
      3.tick 28.25e astra 2b/2a/1n
      4.choose director
5.move phone until dot is in circle
Thanks for the info, shall look in the appstore for the app. Will have a bash at it tomorrow

I will reposition it tomorrow and see what happens. Would I be right in saying that if I leave BBC1 HD on while I move the dish, once I align to the 28.2e, the channel should appear??? or do I have to rescan? Do I have to have to have it on a specific transponder or shall I leave that alone? The specialist was a help, I mean he checked the dish for a signal, replaced the dud LNB and check there was a signal from the dish to the box; just he aligned it to a satellite with a strong signal not knowing it was 92e as he was just using a signal meter.

BBC 1 normal is always the best option when adjusting the dish because it is a strong signal also I have remembered the website which gets your dish pointing in the right direction: Dish Pointer
Just enter your address and postcode, choose astra 28.2e, a line will be drawn in the direction the dish should be facing, zoom in to see a feature that you can point towards.

Just make sure that you have a recent channel list installed before you move the dish.

Once you have found BBC1 SD, it may be worth flicking around a few other channels, as they are not all received at the same strength.

I'm not sure what the weakest transponder is these days. Probably a channel on the highest frequency transponder on Eutelsat, such as Vintage TV, or JML Cookshop.

Thanks for all the help guys.... I manage to lock onto the correct sat. Just the problem I am having now is that I cannot connect to the internet whatever I do?! Ethernet is green, dchp is on, updated firmware, working cable, rebooted like 30 times, factory reset and did it all again and no internet? An suggestions? Thanks again

Have you updated your firmware to the latest one which fixes the youtube issue? If you have then this is a good way to check if your internet is working properly.

A more technical way to check would be to:
1.In the internet settings of your box note down the ip address of your device (xxx.xxxx.xxx).
2.On you pc go into cmd mode (win7: start then in the search box type cmd, winxp: start>run in the run box type cmd.exe)
3.In cmd mode type ping ip address (that you noted down).

If it times out then no connection otherwise it gives the times that it took your box to respond in ms this means your box is connected.

I have updated the firmware to the late march one think it was 27032013.

Youtube or youp*rn do not work, no images no thumbnails nothing. It keeps pointing towards that the box is not connected to the Internet.

I will do the tech way you mentioned but I have a feeling that it will time our meaning no connection.

As sb18 mentioned I do not have any flashing lights on the hub nor the box.

Sometimes turning off your stb then rebooting your router then switching on the stb resolves the problem.
Try connecting your ethernet cable that goes to your stb to your pc if you can, if your pc can connect to the internet then you can rule out the cable as being the problem.

I have literally rebooted both the stb and the router like 50 times.

The cable must be ok as I have been playing the ps3 online with it. Can try and connect to the laptop and I know that it will work.

nomez just try your box on a different router or someones house that has a router then try youtube you do not have to have a dish connected for youtube. just connect box up to tv and router if no youtube then it points to the box, and i know you have all the settings right in the box so it will then be a faulty box.

I agree with sb18180 do as he suggests, if it is faulty and is under warranty return it otherwise you can try the WiFi option as it might just be a faulty Ethernet port or only if you are experienced or brave enough with soldering iron then open up the box and look for shorts or dry joints around the Ethernet port..

I think that the box Ethernet port is faulty, going to return it. Should I get another F5 or go for a X5? Much difference? Also spotted the openbox s6000HD, any good?
