Keep getting 'no recordable partition' on Skybox F3

    Hi all,

I recently purchased a Skybox F3 and so far so good. There are some issues that on reflection would have seen me purchase a Dreambox, like being able to watch TV on your PC but overall it is not that bad.

I do however have one problem, in so much, I have now tried to use 2 USB sticks formatted to FAT 32 to record onto but keep getting the message 'no recordable partition'.

Does anyone know how to overcome this issue please ?

    Regards John.

try plugging the usb into the f3, go into menu and navigate to pvr menu. Once there you can try to format the hd and set up partitions etc for recording on,

not sure if that will sort it but worth a try for nowt.

Also may be worth a try to reformat the usb back to ntfs as i read some had to do this to get the hdd's to work

A lot of people are having issues with usb stick and like darcu5 said some seem to work with NTFS I believe the older models of the F3/M3.
I personally think it might be a power issue i.e not enough power on usb port for continuous recording on usb stick, I would suggest a external hard drive with it's own power supply.

Thank you for the advice. I have only today purchased a hard drive with an external power supply ( needed a new hard drive anyway ) and can now record from the Skybox F3. It did take a bit of time trying to find out how to view the recording ( going into the MP button ) but now all appears to be working.

Out of curiosity, I find it very confusing searching all the channels, but not sure if there is an easier way to view channels as all are grouped under categories and therefore contain the same numbers.

The prog list on these boxes are very basic mate. It is an entry level box and good for watching HD TV, other than that do not expect too much.
