    Some channels not working.

I have done a full blind scan and it picks up all the channels but some of them say no signal. When I do a scan it fails on 11185 v 22500 and all the rest say ok. I know its not down to the provider as I have tried to test lines and both are the same. The channels that arent working were working on sly if that helps if anyone has any suggestions.

Whats the reason for some channels not working? Only seems to be HD one's but not all of them.

Stick a channel list on box, in red stickies. You have choice of ajs , mast etc

I have just noticed when I do a sky it doesnt pickup any of the movie hd channels and when I add a channel list none of the movie hd channels work. I take it there is bothing I can do to get them if the scan doesnt pock them up? When I click on thr movies, some of them say the transponder is 12012 v and when I scan that it picks up nothing.

Do you have a digital cordless (dect) phone?

Is it near your sat box?

If you have try switching off the base station and pull the batteries from the phone.

These are notorious for interfering with sat.

Also what kind of dish and lnb are you using?
Openbox/skybox don't work (without mod) well with sky dishes and quad lnbs.

Is your LNB set up correctly in "installation > antenna setup"? It should be "Universal (9750 - 10600)". I don't see why it should only affect the HD movie channels, but it's worth checking.

I do have a cordless phone but never thought that would interfere with it, I will try it with it off.

I have a skybox f5. The settings are what they should be.

I read something last night that makes me think it is the dish, it is a communal dish as I am in a flat.

I would try this, it only costs about ?1.50 to make.

Although I built mine in a tobacco tin.

I have to use this when I take my openbox to my brothers house (sky quad lnb), but don't have to use it on my ancient single lnb ouput.
I would assume your communal dish is using at least a quad to cover all bands at the same time. H/V LOW/HIGH.

It's also can be bought on ebay ready made, but very expensive for what it is.

google 'openbox diode fix' or ebay 'openbox no signal fix'

Why are boxes made that can't handle the quad lnb and what boxes can handle the quad lnb?

You pay ?40-?50 you get cheap Chinese tat, Start spending around ?100-?150 and you will get something that works as it should and not messing about with diodes etc.. just to get it to work with the LNB installed

If I knew that it would have been a problem I would have bought a better box. Thought all boxes would handle quad lmbs.

Well if its new you could always return it for a refund.

Otherwise for a few quid and a bit of soldering its very easy to fix (if that is the problem)

Or if you are really no good or have no inclination to do it yourself, then for ?7 you can get one off ebay ready made.

Although it is ruddy expensive for what it is
