    Hotbird Help

    Hi,

I used to have a different type of box before i used the Skybox which i think used Nasscamd (i think thats what its called).

I had & currently have a 2 dish setup with one pointing at astra (currently working fine) and one at hotbird. The were both connected using a Diseq switch and were working fine but now my boxes only point and have settings for the astra.

Can anyone advise me on how to get the hotbird up and running? Not sure what details i need to add to add the satellite to the box and the diseq settings (would i need to physically have a look at the switch to find out which ports etc?

My astra sat is working fine and is currently on DiSEqC1.0 - port 2 DiSEqC1.1 disabled.

    Cheers

To add a satellite go to the installation menu & select "satellite List". Click on the green button to "add". Give the satellite a name (Hotbird) & enter it's position (13.0e). Press yellow (ok). Then press "OK" button to select it.

Go to the antenna setup page to set the parameters for Hotbird. LNB freq. = Universal (9750 - 10600). As your other sat is set to DiSEqC1.0 port 2, then I would try port 1 to start with. Then try a single satellite scan for Hotbird. If it doesn't find anything, try port3. If you still find nothing, try port 4.

That will be blank until you do a scan.

Which would have to be a blind scan as there is no Transponder data in the TP list

i tried all diseqc setting and couldnt get a signal on any, looks like i'll have to climb up and have physical look at the switch.

If you have a back-to-back female F adaptor, you could bypass the DiSEqC switch for the Hotbird dish. Then you would know if it's the switch or LNB that's the problem.
