Skybox f3

Sorry if this sounds really daft, I've bought a skybox f3 with gift someone has been using it for a long time already but the gift has been extended for a year.

The box itself as someone else has had it I'd imagine the Chanel list and firmware could be quite out of date from what I've been reading.

How could I check this?
Is it a case of just looking for a Chanel and seeing I don't have it?

If the box is working fine no real reason to upgrade the firmware.As regards the channels just add the newest channel list all will be good

Hi thanks for the reply.

Box seems to be working ok.

I thought I had read somewhere that when updating the channels that my favourites displays 8 categories but with AJ's Chanel list is more categories so firmware update is needed.

Did I get this wrong?

I don't use AJ'S list myself but just add it, can't see there being a problem. These boxes aren't like cable boxes you don't have to upgrade to latest firmware every time.
