Skybox F5 help!

Hi I'm trying to set up my Skybox F5 but I don't know what Satellite I need on the list thing as there is loads and when I scan I keep getting Non-English channels. How can I just get the Sky UK Channels? Do I need to put any firmware on the box or anything?

Hi Thanks I have downloaded this and put it onto a USB but then When I update via USB after it says done I don't see nothing?

upgrade usb > misc file > tp_prog.dbs then upgrade.

When I go Upgrade via USB Then Upgrade Mode it Misc Files on the Upgrade File it doesn't let me go onto it? and Does keep DBS and Setting need to be set to Yes?

When you select upgrade by usb option you must < > on your remote until you see Misc file.
The tp_prog.dbs file must be in the root of your usb stick i.e not in a folder, you are in wrong menu if you are seeing keep dbs and setting probably upgrade firmware do not press upgrade here unless you want to upgrade firmware.

Hi thanks for your help I figured it out now but I got a problem. I can see all of the channels but it just says no signal on all of them? What do I need to do? Sorry but I'm really new to this as you can probably tell.

Did the box come with a Gift? If so contact who supplied it, if you dont know a little reading up on them will help

No it didn't but I don't have a clue what I am doing. I have put AJ's channel list onto the box but now it says no signal on all channels even the FTA ones. I know it works because on the satellite search I could watch the foregin FTA ones.

which brings me to the question which is: what satellite is your dish pointing to, the reason i ask is that most Openbox/skybox owners buy these things for use on a Fixed dish aimed at 28.2? east

The dish was fitted today it was a brand new one from eBay it was a Sky Dish Kit and my brother in-law fitted it and he is a tech wizz. He already fitted one for my niece and her husband and there box is working fine but they have the F3.

so which foreign FTA channels where you watching on it before you flashed the new channel list, if you can remember the name of a few of the channels

Ok the channels I was able to watch were: Music Al-Haneen, Pentagon Channel, Angel TV, Program-11, Program-9, anta oana obs, NLM TV, DIVINE TV, Duna, Duna World. All then channels worked but then when I put the Channel List on there not even BB1, or ITV1 would work.

Your wonderful tech wizz friend is so fantastic that he has aligned your dish to 9.0? east which does not carry any of the 28.2? east $ly channels at all.

Ok well atleast I know what the problem is now and thank you for telling me. This means I'm going to have to go back up there and how will I know when it is pointing at 28.2 east?
