skybox F5 pvr options

My skybox F5 hand book is not worded well, i need help in explaining the pvr options in the menu

what is NTFS
what is PS record
and in DVR type i have choice of REC & TMS or Record, or timeshift
there is also record in fat32 or ntfs

what i would like to know is which are the best settings to have to record programs as my recorded programs on memory stick sometimes freeze

NTFS is the File structure on the available Hard drive or USB stick, it may be that the programs recorded on the USB stick freeze due to the fact that the Read/Write rate are poor on the stick itself.
