Record symbol on Skybox F5

Does anyone know if and how the record symbol can be turned off or set to go off shortly after recording has started ? I'm concerned about screen burn on the plasma.

a reminder that you are recording,so you don't try (or somebody else) tries to change channels.

I'd also be interested in a way to turn this off. It's just a tad annoying.

...but if you do try to change channels you get a warning message anyway, so you cannot accidentally stop recording.

Yes I find it annoying as well but cannot see anything in settings that may allow this to be turned off. I'm not an expert though !
