    Talk Talk router settings

    Hiya,

My intermittent scrambling of channels appears to be related to my router settings.
MY ISP is the Utility Warehouse who i believe use Talk Talk. To be specific my router (TP Link W8961-ND)
issue appears to revolve around the "Encapsulation settings". The internet connection appears
to work correctly when switching between PPPOa and PPPOE, but im not sure which
or if the other settings are correct.

Any help would be much appreciated as this is driving me insane.

talktalk old routers are known to cause a problem try talking to customer services try to wrangle a new router by saying you are having problems with the router.

Thanks for that and I would tend to agree. However, for clarity my routers settings appear as a radio button:

        "PPPOe/PPPOa"

...And not an option of setting one or the other. Am I correct in assuming that the router switches between one and then the other by clicking the same radio button each time ?

I'm on Talk Talk and have scrambling of channels problem also. But I have the newest router they provide. My channels will say scrambled as if its not got any internet connection. But it has because the youtube app still works. But the channels will not come unscrambled until i switch the skybox f5 off at the wall, then switch the box back on and the channels are clear and rock solid again. Anyone have any ideas i could try? Thanks.

Hiya Andy X. I tried your solution this morning and it worked fine . So, big thanks for that. I'm going to try and not turn the box off, as this seems to be the reason the channels are shown as scrambled.

Get your internet profile changed to 6db on the talktalk forum, that will be the problem
