Magic eye?

Will something like the magic eye or similar work on a skybox F5? I have my satellite cables downstairs but looking to get it set up in a bedroom, would it be easier to use a magic eye, or try to get a cable running into the bedroom?

If you are prepared to spend ?50 - ?60, get some video senders with built in infra red remote return. Much better nowadays, and very easy to setup & use.
