opinions on skybox f5 good/bad help

hi iv heard numerous rhoumours about the openbox reciever just dying with no fix, so im wondering is the skybox f5 similar to the openbox as im thinking of buying 3 for my house, also is ther anything i should watch out for etc ? ebay has a buy now price of 48.00 deliverd and 100% original apparently, some help with images would be nice to ie best image to flash so i can put my c**** in any info at all would be really apreciated cheers

Hi the F5 is the bottom of the barrel mate i would not have one for FREE just check the posts on the problems with them...
i have 2 F3's & never had a problem with them but they where the 1st F3's to come out
since then the people that make all the box's are using cheap components so you pay you money & take a chance

for under ?50 you get a sat receiver and multimedia player.........picture quality is spot on, media player is almost perfect but does get the odd audio sync glitch.
Signal strength is vital on these..if your dish / lnb is old then either look at a better box or fix the dish/lnb.
PVR works quite nicely and saves as .avi so can be played elsewhere.
EPG is just now/next so if you like planning recordings for the week.... forget about it
had my F5 for about 2 months and once i sorted my signal issues and used sattv5's list its great..odd wee picture glitches that for the money i can live with and nothing about it that bugs the wife so thats a bonus.
It is a budget box...try 1 and base you next purchase on that....buying 3 is a bit of a gamble as some sources are selling really crappy clones.

well at least you did a bit of research and asked questions,others did not and ended up with problems pay cheap=pay twice.
