serial cable and null modem cable look the same but wired differently.

maybe also take note of what settings you used.

Of course nothing is easy....Its now allowing my .............................. to go on but not unlocking the channels!!..FFS !!!...DHCP IS on And correct ............... is on the correct cam.

Have you tried inputting the details manually (via the remote control) and then saving them by pressing "exit" (which saves your settings) followed by a soft reset.

yeah i inputted manually just to be on safe side......deffo helps when you plug the ethernet cable back in before posting a question!!/...LOL......Box is back 100% now..Happy Days!!!

i know a lot of people are going all laptop and tablet these days, so if you have someone who does not want their old pc, if its got the port on it, take them up on the offer, you can always put it away, but it will be very handy if you have problem like on this thread

To be honest the leads cost me Total of a fiver for both of them and when i changed to the correct port it was pretty straightforward from there on in.
