    28.2 and 13e

Hi all, I have a skybox f3 and a fixed 80cm dish at 28.2 and 13. the engineer who set this up tested and showed me a picture from both satellites so I know the sat bit is working fine. I am unsure how to set up the diseq/usals (whichever I need) in the skybox. can I get some advice please. thanks.

Depens which way round he has connected the Inputs on the diseqc switch, But trial and error and you should be fine.

set to Diseqc 1.0 and use Input 1 for 13? east and Input 2 for 28.2? east if that does not work switch them around

thanks for the response. this is the setup I have in satellite list: 1) name sly uk, longitude 013.0E, LNB Freq Universal(9750-10750), Diseqc1.0 port 2, Diseqc1.1 Disable, 22k Auto(but this I greyed out), Polarity H/V, Motor type off. 2) name Hotbird, longitude 028.2E, LNB Freq Universal(9750-10550), Diseqc1.0 port 1, Diseqc1.1 Disable, 22k Auto(but this I greyed out), Polarity H/V, Motor type off. I have tried changing the ports around. do I use diseqc 1.0 or 1.1. it is a fixed dish so I wouldn't use the motor would I? When I go into antenna setup the signal intensity and quality is 30% and 10%. which is quite low. really stuck now on how to get this working. the satellite must be working fine as the engineer showed me rai tv pic and sly uk pic. any help would be much appreciated. thanks in advance.

As its only a 2 way Diseqc switch then you only need to use Diseqc 1.0, 1.1 is used for up to 32 satellites.

To be Honest any Installer worth his salt would have set it up on the box as well for you to show you that it was working, From your config the setup looks correct and it should work

The only thing i could think of is that its either the firmware on the box or maybe even a switch problem or even box & switch compatibility

Diseqc is compatible with the f3. I will upgrade the firmware to latest tomorrow. Then see if that helps.
          Thanks mate.

For a start you have the names mixed up. Sly should be 28.2e & Hotbird should be 13e.

The LNB Freq is also wrong. It should be set to Universal (9750-10600).

If the box was working while the "engineer" was there, then have you changed something yourself to stop it working?

Is the DiSEqC switch outside, near the dish, or inside?

Sorry ignore the name. Its a typo . Switch is in loft as it comes Into a satellite plate in the wall. The engineer didnt set the box up as I bought them separately. I know How to set the box up to watch one satellite but not two. The engineer plugged his picture tester in which I saw rai tv and a sly tv ch. does the lnb frequency need to be for both?
              Thanks

Download & Install the channel list in this post as I have set it for 28 & 13 east for you and then do the following:

1 Select any channel i.e type 101 in the remote for BBC 1 and hopefully it should come on (if so skip to point 7)
2 If no channel comes on Tv press menu on the remote control and scroll through till you find satellite list & select it
3 Highlight sky Uk and press red button
4 Scroll down to Diseqc1.0 and change to port 2 & press yellow for ok
5 Do the same for hotbird 13 now instead change it to port1 & press yellow for ok
6 Exit the menu & Hopefully you should now have a picture on the screen if not type 101 into the remote for BBC 1
7 Press menu on the remote and Select Single satellite search
8 Where it says satellite select Hotbird and scroll to the bottom of the same menu & select search
9 After a few minutes it should finish, now press exit on the remote till your back at the tv channel
10 Type 1078 into the remote control and hopefully that should be the start of all your channels on 13 east, keep scrolling up till you find one that works if 1078 doesn't

                  Yep.

Universal LNB's used in Europe use local oscillator frequencies of 9.75GHz (9750MHz) & 10.6GHz (10600MHz), so whatever satellite you point your dish at, the LNB freq should always be set to 9750-10600.
