    Help

    Hi all.

I have a DiSEqc dark motor set up to a 80m dish powering a protek 9760HD IP receiver.

Everything was working fine with 12 satellites tuned in until I tried to fine tune a satellite, found the motor

    wouldnt respond to the west.

On checking the manual buttons on the motor the west led light is red and east led light is green which Im assuming that there is

    something wrong.

The motor does move to the west when retracking a satellite tuned in.

I have reseby t the motor by disconnecting the coax and holding both east/west buttons for 5 seconds as

    instructed.

I have also reset the hardware by the receiver and managed to retune most satellites by arcing from west to

    east.

The west led light still remains red and the motor will not fine tune or move to the west.

Im now assuming that there is a problem with the motor after resetting it and still having the problem

So my second question is: if I need to change the motorhas anybody had any dealings with the new horizons

    NH-210 DiSEqc motor.

It has been highly recommended to me as the best motor available for the UK and europe at present.

    Cheers

Ok first off stay away from the NH-210 its motor spindle diameter is smaller than other standard motors which is normally around 2" , The dark motor is suppose to flash both Red/Green intermittently to tell you that the motor is fine the problem is when you reset the motor you wiped your Diseqc 1.2 positions from its memory and the motor has returned to factory default Motor table and as you say you restored the your new positions in the motor afterwards.

It maybe an idea to reset again by the box menu as in GOTO '0' position and switching the box off at the mains for at least a minute this will also power of the DM and hopefully reset the tables and then have another bash, I know fom last year there was a bad batch of superiors but they are a solid and reliable motor for the money persevere with it
