No as I dont have an F6 or an X5 which I believe has the same .bin file for channel list.

What I did was Google and checked on the forums that had discussed the issue your having.

Let me google that for you

I take it you have experienced them all!

I have an F4 which has frozen once in 8 months.

I have shifted over 100 F3's and only had problems with 2 of them, one power board and the other was an unstable ethernet port. Total cost for the replacement parts delivered from China was ?10.60.

So before you spread your sh1t you should get your facts right.

Dont know what you have done as I havn't seen an F6. Did you buy from the auction site? If so you can open a dispute "Not as Described" as it should at the very least get FTA channels.

This site has the software for it but no mention of a loader. The software is a bin file.

You could send a nice email to the supplier mentioning what the box is doing and ask if there is anything to bring it back to life like an eprom loader.

Hi again DW190,tried to upgrade the bin file using eprom loader but just says "wrong file" each time i press next.can this file be loaded from a usb stick instead of rs232 cable.box just keeps jumping from "ON" to a load of numbers then back to "ON".Getting frustrated now and left with a bricked f6 ( S..T box)

As the box wont load past the ON there is no way of getting the to the menu to upgrade by USB.

Have you contacted your supplier? He may have a loader.

I know the Kryptview has bin file but doubt that loader will work, but you never know.

Luckily the sunplus based receivers (X5 & F6) can be recovered using the usb port

                              OPENBOX X5 & Skybox F6 Recovery

                              1. Format USB drive to FAT32 file format
                              2. Create a folder named "recovery" on the USB drive
                              3. Copy KD_P9000E_HD.bin file to the recovery folder on the USB drive.
                              4. Connect the USB drive to the USB Port on the satellite receiver.
                              5. Turn the power on the satellite receiver while pressing the OK button on the front panel.
                              6. Keep the OK key pressed until showing Lxxx message on the LED of the front panel.
                              7. On the TV screen it should show that the software is updating by the USB drive.
                              8. The STB should now restart hopefully all should now be working

I have included the firmware for the X5 & F6
