    SNR Connection

Mines currently stands at 72% Average, currently watching SS and the signal intensity is at 84% and the quality is at 74%...

Is there anyway you can improve or increase the SNR and the intentsity or quality so that it will perhaps make the channels less jumpy from time to time ??

Let me no of any ways I can increase it as I have 30mb internet so connection shouldnt be a problem..

I think you may find that you will struggle with the SNR margin on there receivers as the ones that i have seen have all been around the same % figure so i would assume its a driver problem in the firmware that gives them a low reading, The reason i know this because out of all the Zone1 dish installs i have done on these boxes i have only seen 1 that has gone over 80% all the rest have stayed between 74-76% on all Transponders. To give you an idea the TP for CH4HD which is on Astra 2F absolutely booms in at around 20+ DB on a pro meter above rain margin if you equated that on the % rate it would be over 100% but as explained the F3/F5 etc.. still show only a low SNR margin due to the Tuner Driver problem try another receiver and you should see a difference but not another Sky/Openbox type.

Your internet side again is another myth you could have 1tb speed download it wont make a jot of a difference if the line quality is crap, the most important part is the Ping from yourself to whoever and also Jitter on the line which is the the main factors.

Generally on a Fibre connection your ping should be around 10-20ms with 0 jitter once you go above 70ms and have jitter on the line then start worrying

Okay thanks for the help..Just another quick Q..

MySlyThrillerHD channel seems to be the most jumpy of all my movie channels maybe even of all my channels period, watching SS1HD now theres hardly a jump atm if even any but ThrillerHD is wild for it....

Any way to correct this? The SNR is at 72-73% and the quality is around the same as the other channels..

As i explained previously dont take a blind bit of notice of the SNR readings on these receivers as they dont give a true reading simple as that some channels could be in at 100% in reality and others could be as low as 40% you wont know because the box cannot give a correct reading

Try a Rescan of just that one channel and see if the rescan version corrects itself
