I'm back and mithering again had a look at a few guides etc, still a bit confused, can i break the box if i do something wrong?? I need someone with the patience of a saint to guide me as if talking to a 5 year old please.....

Hi, yes i did but have been told it isn't reliable and also there is more i could get, really need to learn how to do it myself

Be the clever one....

get a usb stick no.1

plug it in the box...

menu / dump by usb
click sideways on the remote....dump /misc files
FILES TO BACKUP ALL OF THEM

How to scroll down & put a tick at the end of each file tick all of them (press the OK button to get the tick)

click start...let the box do its stuff.....everything backed up......

DON'T LOSE IT
anything goes wrong after this you'll be ok all you have to do is load this file back to the box then back to how you have it now

Excellent advice and many thanks, now, if i wanted to dispense with what is already there and start from scratch what do i need, i have seen things like channel list, cline, image files etc, do i need all of these(and perhaps more) and what exactly are they

hi is ur box up and running if it is you dont need to start from scatch dont fix whats not broke ! a channel list is exactly what it says you can get the latest channel list from the red stickys at top of page ! the image file is your firmware which is allready installed on your box if its working ok you dont need to change it ! and finally the cline is your gift the partwecanttalkabout ! ok pal

How do you load back the file once you have saved all the information/settings. Thanks.

If I was saving a backup of the box I would save the image and tick all available files.

Menu
Tools
Dump By USB
Image on top line
Start
Tick All Available
Dump

Then if you put this back on it will be exactly as it cam off.

Hi check if the youtube/you~~~~ channels work ......

if they do you are receiving internet connection.....If not then Goto /menu/network settings/ethernet setup/make sure DHCP is set to on......

If on check the ip address is the same as your router or turn dhcp off reboot box......turn it back on then reboot box see if that sorts the problem out
