    not receiving most channels ?

hi all I have been trying to align my dish and had it aligned but just got so many channels like itv and afew others so I bought a sat finder it said to set the reading to 5 and then move the dish to get the strongest signal which I have done and the highest I can get is about 7 but I still don't have all the channels the bracket that holds the lnb in place has snapped on one side but still holds it don't know if this is the cause or what anybody any ideas ?

Put your box on CBS action and align to this channel only and get the quality signal as high as possible once done tighten up and all the others will be fine

Are you getting all the free channels bbc, itv, c4 etc.. then just might be the internet or gift, the newer firmware I believe says no signal instead of scrambled.

Are you doing a blind/accurate scan to receive your channels, or have you loaded a channel list onto your box?

It might be your dish alignment have you tried up/down as well as side to side? In all cases very small adjustments, by the way what is your set up like have you got any other box connected as well?

I have tried everyway possible to align the dish I think its in the best place it can be now and its still the same I can now get sky sports again but only sd not hd and very choppy and the wind is blowing and it knocks it off very easy which I think should not do so easy

The BBC transponders are on 1N the strongest transponders are on 2F which include the likes of ITV,Ch4 etc... CH4HD should be off the scale on the quality reading

Maybe a silly question, but is your DHCP set to on or off?

The OP is able to get sd scrambled channels therefore internet must be working.
One more thing I can suggest is check the connectors on the sat cable also check the cable it self for fraying etc..
