hi t23,think kalipo wants to no if fixed/motorised, if motor what size dish,which motor+what lnb.

oh ok its a fixed dish I have just put it up today as I think the last one was knackered nice pic by the way

Make sure the dish is level. If you have a channel list on put it on a known free channel like BBC 1 and press the info button three times. Mobile phones between dish and tele and slowly move the dish till you get a signal.

Never used a sat finder. I just got the line off dishpointer which went across a chimney around the corner, got my head behind the dish and lined it up where I thought the line was. Was amazed when there was a pic onthe screen. Then fine tuned it with mobile phones and the box showing the satellite progress bars.

I have tried them with no joy I have afew trees in the same direction don't know if they are blocking it or not I cant get any joy with vcbs action at all and I cant get bbc hd either I have asked about and somebody has said they can align the dish for 30 pound

If the trees are tall and close they will give problems even if it alligned professionally. Any half decent rigger would advise on the trees.

I am in ls14 seacroft so maybe if I move they dish so it has a better view of the sat maybe ?

If you move the dish to Rochdale you should not have a problem sorry couldn't help myself.

your first port of call should be the dishpointer website enter your address and then move the Marker to where your dish is located enable the LOS indicater and see if the trees are creating a problem
