After hours of searching on internet solution for skybox f3 to show normal subtitles without converting movies(hardcoding subtitles) i found only this solution .Name of the sw is MKVToolnix who put on movie subtitle for couple of seconds, and box it showing normally white subtitle(just turn it on on subtitle button) not ugly one like when put together video and srt file. But only problem is subtitle seems to small. So my question is is there any way to increase font,if doesn't,does it have any way to contact skybox support and ask them what is the deal with mediaplayer subtitles?Tnx in advance.

Do you mean you found a way to get rid of the ugly shadow and wipe effect that you have in subtitles? My f5s shows them this way. Not sure I understand your method tho. You mean you need to resave the srt file with a program called MKVtoolnix ? It doesnt really make sense cause an srt file is a standard format. I dont see how resaving it from a diff app will make it function differently with the skybox.

I downloaded MKVtoolnix from here: Download MKVToolNix

It installs an app that's called MKVMerge and looks like its for generating mkv files... Not sure what it has to do with the srt files and the method you suggested.
Can you please tell me step by step how did you use this app to generate an srt that will work better with the skybox receiver? thanks

put movie and srt files in same folder, open MKVMerge, first option input filles add both(movie+subtitle),start muxing, send it on usb, play in mediaplayer, press subtitle button twice,DONE

Thank so you much it works!! I'm so glad there's another method to show subtitles on media files other then the ugly huge shadow and wipe effect they did when you just put the srt file with the video file. what the hell were they thinking..

As for making it bigger, srt is a textual format and you can't force it to be bigger. That depends on the player you use. I guess on the skybox thats just the way it shows it. Although on my 37" TV it seems just right. Not too big and not too small. Only thing that was missing is a bit of a drop shadow cause its just plane white.

The solution might be in this app, AVIAddXSubs 9.14 Need to test it further. It let you specify the size of the font before its embedded but the problem is that it only works with AVI files and when I wrote an avi file the skybox didn't recognize the subtitle. That app also let you just write a sub file from the srt (if you choose in the settings idx/sub instead of avi ) and I tried adding the sub's idx file to MKVMerge and add it to an mp4 file but that didn't work with the skybox either.. It could still work maybe with some other settings.
