If the information is not already present in your receiver and the Key edit menu has this option then yes it will be, Not all receivers require this extra information as a few store it automatically

I don't think my receiver has the information stored??? i did try to input some keys in the past but it did not work as I did not have the pid info to input. I usually check for feeds on satelliweb which unfortunately does not generally advertise the caid/pid info.
