    missing channels

    Hi all I have had afew probs with my dish recently got it now to where I think it needs to be aligned to and am still missing some channels bbc one hd/bbc hd/sky sports 1 hd etc has I have tried loading both channels lists that can be downloaded from here with no joy the only way I seem to get any joy is when I do a blind scan which I get at the min 320 channels has anyone any ideas

    make sure you have your satellite feed connected to the input not the loop . May sound silly but just check.

      I would not get any channels if it was not connected as I said I have 320 channels at the min

        It sounds like you have not got your dish properly aligned and thats why your only picking up certain transponders.
        Judging by the fact that you are getting some channels then you can't be to far off having it aligned correctly.

          When I do a blind scan I get 900+ channels as sattv says your dish is still not aligned properly you are nearly there but remember minuscule movements (mm), you can go to this site Satellite Finder / Dish Alignment Calculator with Google Maps | DishPointer.com so that you can point to a landmark in your immediate area then move it up or down until signal strength goes up.

            Despite some people disagreeing with me, I know from personal experience that as well as the elevation & azimuth, adjusting the skew can also make a drastic difference if your signal is not very strong to start with (e.g. if you are using a small dish & don't live in S.E. England).
