Newbie who needs help f5 - choose program to record etc

Hi guys iv tried looking and finding my answers however can't seem to sort a few things I'm totally new to this but very interested.

Ol so my thoughts so far

1.has anyone come up with a way to use the skybox remote to turn tv on and off like sky tv remote?
2. How can I select a program that's on tomorrow (say I'm going on holiday) to record???
3. Has anyone figured out a good work around for the terrible program guide not showing. In epg menu it only shows channel I'm on, i actually have to press down button to try and force it to refresh guide and only the next program, not what's on tomorrow etc.

Whats the blooming point of being able to record..... When you are there to watch the program....

Is there a time limit on how long the recording is?

I take it that you are too young to remember the "good old days" of VCR programme recording before videoplus was introduced! LOL.

Look online (or even in a good old fashioned listings magazine) to see when your programme is on.

In the timer settings, select the channel, date, ON time, & duration. Job done.

You don't need an EPG to program the timer.
