    Skybox or alternative for ?100

I want to buy a skybox f3 or f5 or a better alternative . Am a bit of a technophobe and want something that is simple to use with the same results and hd would be better .

    Hi there,

i had dreambox 500s which i got from a dealer it was fine for a while, but the software i had on it was clunky etc. I now have a Skybox F5s yes your read it correctly 's' model. Its the successor to the F5 model. So far i think its a really good box. It can pick up FTA HD channels and other channels which i cannot discuss here e.g Sly

i followed the guides on the here and googled a lot of things. i found it easy to use once i understood what i had to do. I find the Skybox F5s easy to use and configure. The box is light so far performs really well. Ive never used an F3 box before so i don't know it performs.

What do you exactly want to use it for? FTA only or for other means if you know what i mean...

here lies the problem with these inferior boxes if you are using skys own box and you want to add the skybox as they can clash with lnbs and give you no signal on some hd channels,if you spend a bit more you can get a better box that works, yes any sat box can be added to your dish.

Openbox 6000HD is vu solo clone but at about ?80-?90 it runs a little hot but not read anywhere about that causing a problem seen some advertised with a fan installed but still under ?100 for anyone wanting to get in to Enigma2 boxes a good starter box I would say.

I have a cloud-ibox which is a clone of the 6000hd or vice versa, who knows? It has a fan and runs only warm. Been messing about with it for a couple of weeks and found that a recent but not cutting edge VIX image runs rock solid. Got it for ?90 delivered off ebay from some dude that usually sells Zimbabwe currency! Never thought it would arrive but thankfully it did, and sharpish.

Had an s10 before. This is night and day in comparison.

Runs Icefilms plugin nicely, alas not the HD feeds...1 Channel also works.

If you want any further details PM me.
