    need advice if at all possible

    hi there im new to this sat side of things as i used to have a kryptview box for vm before the n3 came in.

    i have ordered a skybox f5s but i dont know what kind of dish and lnb to get some people say get a mortorised dish while others say get any old dish.

    can you please help me with this also am i able to install the dish myself or is it something only an engineer should do i have ladders and sds drills as i am a joiner by trade.

    any help would be greatly appreciated.

    also what firmware, software and channel lists do you recomend.

    If you only want UK channels the a dish off ebay with a quad lnb, fixing kit and cable is about ?22-?23. dishpointer dot com will give you the line and then you will need to fine tune with some assistance. One at the dish another by the tele. (you will need a pre tuned box for this)

      i need info on the following

      1. advice on which motorized dish to get for all the satellites i gan get.
      2. if i get a quad or octo lnb can i put one box in living room and on in bedroom ?
      3. how do i make sure dish is pointing in right direction in the first place?
      4. any other sites or is there a guide on this site on sat instalations.

        You cant use a quad or octo on a motorised dish

          Talking about jumping into the deep end comes to mind.... soz mate

                Not for the purpose the op is intending.

                Different boxes requesting different sats would conflict.

                  ...but that doesn't stop you from using a quad on a motorised dish as long as you know the limitations.

                  For example, it's possible to use the box in the living room to point the dish & just use the one in the bedroom to watch whatever is on that satellite. The bedroom box would have the USALS & DiSEqC parameters disabled.

                    You know the limitations and I know the limitations but the op would need to do quite a lot of reading.

                    Being a new entry into sat and having a motorised dish and two boxes multiroom with wrong settings would be a route for disaster.

                      thanks for all the info guys i understand and new about the two boxes and the fact they can only set to one sat at a time.
