Skybox is unresponsive, the TV is receiving no input. PLEASE HELP!

    Hi guys,
I recently bought a SkyBox F5s. I managed to install it properly, everything was working fine. I had all the channels but they weren't in order.
So I downloaded a .dbs file from one of the threads on this forum with numerous thanking comments to order the channels.
I moved the .dbs file onto a USB memory stick. I had ONLY put the memory stick in the back, pressed the turn on button on the remote and nothing now appears on the screen.

May any of you be so kind to offer me some advice on what has happened here and how to rectify this problem?

    Thank you very much,
    Rarek.

Does anything still appear on the box display panel?

I take it that you have tried rebooting the box with the USB stick removed?

      Try the vformat button.

        Hi, Hadron.
Yeah, I have tried rebooting without the USB and it has the same outcome. All that appears on the box display is 0001.

        Philm,
Where is the VFormat button? Nothing is being displayed otherwise. How am I meant to interface with the box?

I'm thinking of using a RS232 Cable to flash the box with new official firmware from skybox.cc website.

As Hadron said have you pressed the vformat button on your remote press it several times see if you can get a picture if this doesn't work what is displayed on the front of your box?

Get yourself an RCA AV cable and connect to the video socket on the back of the box and the corresponding one on your tv. Select AV as the input on your tv. If you get a picture then its more than likely the V.Format.

Have you tried another HDMI lead?

It was actually philm that suggested the V format button. Rarek says that he is getting 0001 displayed on the box.

Rarek...I would do as DW190 suggests & try the composite output, or the scart on the box. If that works have a look at the TV settings in the menu. You may have accidentally pressed the V format button on the remote, & put the box in a format that the TV cannot recognise through the HDMI output.

Vformat button, second button from left above coloured buttons on remote.
When pressed should show TV system on screen, if you don't see it on first press it will be something else.
