if you mean dump firmware from 1 f5 to another f5 then yes, but if your talking (just for instance sake) a dreambox image to an f5 then no, you would need to give us a bit more info as to what your after doing.

some cousins are close enough to run on the openbox s10,but that requires editing the firmware to match the openbox remote and some hardware mods to disable the protection ic.I don't know about other models.

I did get burned during the summer with my x2 premium receiver,trying other software.
One miss-edit and I killed it.
The only way to recover from that is removing the flash chip and programming with a programmer.
