depends what you want to use it for.

if you want it for astra 28.2e then you will need a satellite dish correctly aligned to astra 28.2e. this will enable you to watch free to air channels, you will also need a active internet connections so that you can watch you tube weather app etc.

You forgot to mention he will need a dish the size of Jodril Bank and a couple of repeaters along the way.
