So I have a skybox f3, and for the money it is good value. I have a hdd connected, it records and timeshifts fine.
However I have some issues which I wonder if a different box resolves.
1 - I would like to be able to transfer recordings to my pc without moving the hdd from the skybox to a usb port on the pc, so over the LAN.
2 - I would like a proper working EPG.
3 - Various functions cause the box to freeze for 2-3 seconds, eg. entering EPG and exiting it pauses for 2-3 seconds, twice I done this I had to power cycle it as it hard frozen.
4 - If the box is on for long time the channel list screws up, it will either revert from favourite category to all sattelite or most the channels will dissapear and only 4-5 will be available including the one watching.
5 - If possible a live stream facility to pc also. but #1-4 are more important, ill skip #5 if bumps price up a lot.
6 - Can update channels easily, thats a cool feature with skybox.
I only have one working sat feed, the 2nd seems broken. So dont need a box that can have 2 feeds.
