              Hi,
I'm fairly new to this, Ive had my F5S for about a month now and have had no problems whatsoever (touch wood)
Ok, so last night I decided to unplug the F5S and take it upstairs to watch, Unplugged all the cables and plugged my upstairs cables in, turn the box on POOF! a dim 8 with red light, Then the box counts up to 100 and then flashes the dim red 8 and reboots counting up to 100 again followed by the dim red 8, It just kept looping over and over.
I tried unplugging various cables and plugging them back in - No matter what nothing would stop it looping.

After trawling through various web pages basically everyone seems to think its buggered so I thought i'd return it,

Took it downstairs and without thinking plugged it back in POOF! all working again like nothing happened!

The only thing I can think off is maybe the upstairs sockets might be overloaded, I had the box in an extension lead with laptop,tv and blu-ray player in same 4 gang extension

My downstairs setup is very similar however the extension socket downstairs has built in surge protection (about?20 from argos) - Now I dont know if this is a solution for anyone else but it worked for me

dotcomsimon...when you had the box upstairs, did you try booting the box with the LNB cable disconnected?

Sometimes a rebooting problem is caused by a short circuit in the LNB cable.

It wouldn't have anything to do with the mains connection.

Ah! sorry didn't realise that, no I didn't try without the LNB, I thought that because it was taken out of the back of my current working official skybox (only FTA channels) it was a case of straight swapping, Might have another go later

                            If 0000 doesn't work, try 3327.

Just aquired an f5s with the same problem, tryed my power supply from my f5 and it worked... seems to be a psu issue.

checked the voltage of the psu i got with it and its only outputing 5v....mine 12v
