    Skybox F5 Help.

My original post was posted in wrong place Sorry for my error.

Got myself 2 skybox f5 yesterday, everything looking good at the moment, I must say.

As you can see by my posts im a newb, and after some answers, and some help with regards to these skyboxes

    Here goes

    1. As stated I have purchased 2 of these boxes, one in the main living room and one in the daughters bedroom. I have sky multiroom at present. So this allows the 2 boxes tow work in both rooms, However is there any way that i can now watch or get this skybox onto a tv in my bedroom? As when i was with SLY I had a magic eye and could get it in my bedroom.

    2. Following on from Q1, Can I use a magic Eye ? If not, does a new cable need to be run from the satellite dish (is this possible) to my bedroom and purchase another box??

Sorry for the long winded questions but I am lost without the tv in my bedroom

Dorry for so many questions so early in my time I have been here.

Or have anybody here have any way of helping me sort this out

    Thanks in advance

I use a wireless av sender 5.8ghz. You get a transmitter & receiver, plugs into the scart on the skbox & the scart on the Tv ( if you have a scart on the tv. You even get a ir to change the chanell. On offer at CPC for ?26+vat & free postage. Not as good as hard wired but ok for a bedroom. Easy to fit.

Cheers for that bonnykass, will have a look at those as we speak.

Yes the the tv has a scart so all is good there.

So these wireless senders have an Ir also so can change channel from my bedroom even though the box is in another??

If you are going to use the existing $ly magic eye cable then have a look at the Triax Tri-Link which will use the exisitng Coax cable run and also give you back the Magic eye control

The magic eye cable is still in the bedroom, so how do you go about connecting the f5 box up when it's in another bedroom. Is it just plug it into the loop and away to go or have I got to do something else??

Im not that clued up I'm afraid

          so please excuse my ignorance.

The reason i wrote the above message is because, it is simple to see.. Sky magic eye uses the RF out from a sky receiver... The skybox f5 doesnt have an RF out so how is it going to work? As a previous post states, the triax tri-link or a pair wireless AV senders may be best, but for a few quid more, you can get another skybox.

Spend some time looking into what each of the suggested solutions do and how they work

                Jackpot

I'm sorry for being an idiot, not everyone has the knowledge you expect of them. I don't know what you do for a living, but me I have no idea regarding all this, if I have offended you in anyway for asking about this then I do apologise.

I come here for help and not to be humiliated to be honest. I however could help you out in my profession one day.

So again I'm sorry for not being in the know with technology.

I could get another skybox, but how will it work as I have already used the 1lead downstairs, and the 1 upstairs. Are you saying that the magic eye cable in my bedroom would also work.

                I havent a clue.

If you want to know, I am both a waiter and a car audio, lighting and security installer.

Thats not the point, what i was trying to get across to you is that the answers have been given to your questions, you just need to look into them to get a better understanding.

Using your loop out will only enable you to connect up to another receiver like a skybox, however only one of the two can be used at any one time*.

The loop will not work with the magic eye, theyre completely seperate.

If you want to be able to use your skybox which is downstairs in your bedroom, forget completely about the magic eye as that is not compatible with your receiver.

You will need something like this..2.4Ghz Audio Video Wireless AV Sender Receiver TV Freeview Sky Virgin DVD Hi fi | eBay

*unless both receivers are viewing channels from the same transponder.

Just to add, microwaves do interfere with them if theyre close by ^^^

Another option, get a receiver like a dreambox, and stream to a pc,laptop or tablet.

Ok ok thanks jackpot, I am however looking into all the above. Sorry I went off on 1, I think the wireless sender is the best option.

                      Any advice on scrambled channels?

Every couple of hours I have to switch the box off and reboot as the channels have scrambled however, this box is wireless connected, could this be the prob??

Hit the thanks button if and when someone helps you.

Why your channels scramble? I dont know as i dont use wifi for any receiver. It could be that or it could be something else.
