There are a couple of options.

Use a switch box to switch one of the feeds to either the $ly+ box or F5s... F Type Satellite Cable A-B Switch FREE P&P - UK SELLER | eBay

...or you could use the loop through on the F5s box. Connect one of the feeds to the F5s box LNB input, & then connect a lead from the Loop through to one of the LNB inputs on the $ly+ box. You will need to make sure that whichever box you don't use is in standby if you use this method.

In both cases, one sat feed is left permanently connected to one of the LNB inputs on the $ly box.

The switch boxes are also available in Maplin for a couple of pounds more.

You will need a couple of short F-type to F-type cables.

Something else that I forgot to mention, is that if you have spare ports on your LNB, you could run another cable from the dish to the F5s, so that you don't need to swap leads at all.

A note for anyone else with a similar dilemma

Best bet for the easiest possible installation would have been the loop out from the skybox.

That has drawbacks as I used that method and occasionally I would get no signal on certain channels from the F5 even though $ky box was on standby.

I found I had to wait a while or just unplug the loop from F5 to $ky to correct it.

At a guess I was thinking maybe it was the $ky box updating EPG, something internally, or a clash of somekind between F5 and $ky despite $ky being on standby.

In the end, I ran a separate feed from LNB to F5 and have no problems at all now and don't have to worry about suddenly losing signal on F5.

no, i mean connect the LNB to the skybox/openbox and running the loop out from that to the sky receiver, that would give the skybox/openbox priority on signal.

That was my setup but it made no difference. Occasionally, I would still lose signal on Skybox/openbox despite $ky receiver being on standby. Only way of correcting it was waiting for it to correct itself or remove the loop cable from my F5 to $ky receiver.

As I said it would correct itself but this could sometime take minutes and sometimes bit longer and as I said I think maybe the $ky receiver itself was either updating EPG or something.

Ah i see, thats odd. Must be the higher power drain from the receivers.

In a perfect world and ideally the F5 when switched on should ensure signal is blocked/stopped via the loop feature so this would mean F5 take priority when on and any other receiver wouldnt be able to use the input from the F5.

Like I said as a guess the $ky receiver although still in standby is doing something (like EPG updating) that it needs signal for and with F5 being on it causes a conflict and F5 loses with some channels.
