If Using A Skybox F3s, F5s On Communal Dish: READ HERE
It could be several reasons one being the communal dish itself might be slightly off line and maybe if other users have original Sky boxes the tuner in those would be vastly superior to the f3/f5 and probably don't notice..Another reason would be the amount of cables split to each apartment/flat and the connections on them are probably not serviced that often. While at the moment you have 1 dish which I assume is properly aligned and only 1 cable coming from it to your box.
I setup f3s at my mates house he also had sky plus box
his f3s wouldnt clear sum channels on certain days
it turned out that when his sky plus was powered on it interfeard with f3
summat to do with power through the LNB i think
common problem with many people with skyboxes and providers box,a better box might have worked better on communal dish,no way would l suggest a skybox in that situation hopefully it might work better now.
I too have put up with a communal dish for the last 2 years and the signal was terrible (some channels showing no signal) but today I called out a local dish installer and he put up my own dish and now the no signal problem has gone (got every channel on my f3) ?45.00 well spent, and the wife is also pleased as we now have a fully working sky living channel..
