Skybox F5 All Channels "No Signal"

    Hi,
My friends Skybox F5 started showing "No Signal" yesterday on every channel, when I checked it the signal was down (as if there was no cable connected from the dish). There is a Dreambox d500s downstairs so I tryed it on the cable the Skybox was on and the channels worked fine. I also tried the Skybox downstairs and it didn't work, so I assumed the tuner on the box was gubbed. But today the Skybox in my house done the same thing so I thought mine was gubbed too, however when I changed the cable on mine to another port on my LNB I got a signal and all the channels came back. So now I'm thinking could it be the LNB that is causing my friends box to show no signal?

Has this happened to anyone else ? and is there a fix ?

If it was a signal fix issue would I not be able to watch channels on the H list ?

You are right this is 'not no signal fix' issue, you got to check f connectors at both ends to make sure cable has not worked loose or water has not got in at the LNB end, you can also check with a working box to see if the problem is still there with that box LNB do break down sometimes.

Are you connecting the box on its own or do you have other boxes connected at the same time ????

It sounds like it is the LNB that's knackerd are you getting the FTA channels ??

The LNB's you can get for a few quid.....or if you want a better make of LNB ?15-20

It seems the F5 box's are common for this fault tho (no signal) What firmware are you running. (menu/system info)

Well I'm thinking it is the LNB same thing happened again today, got nothing from the box, plugged in another box and still couldn't get a signal turned it off for an hour and it came back on so I'm going to invest in a new LNB to see if that fixes it.
