New F5S Software Released.

Just a heads up to let people know that a new software has been released today for the F3S and F5S which adds extra support for the EPG. This download is available from the official Skybox.cc support page and it is also available on the Yojiatech downloads page which I believe may be for certain manufactured boxes.

The top attachment is the official Skybox website software and the bottom one is the Yojiatech software:

Be interesting to know what, if any, differences there are in EPG.

Is it a visual improvement or have they gone as far as the work-around required to get full EPG on $ky?

Yes major inprovement. You have full EPG, but you need to have a usb stick attatched. But cons are that it's not easy to reach the info....not the EPG button or info,( still only present and next event)...you have to go info/ network/ "xmhl EPG data" by remote. Next to youtube and weather app..

Do you have to keep updating this xmhl epg data or does it do it itself and stores it on memory stick?

You can choose auto-update option. i don't know how it works though....I just did a manual update, saw it was epgdata for atleast 7 days. Hav'nt looked in to it further.

Would I be able to get some help with updating my Skybox F5s to the latest firmware? I have a gift and a channels list/favourites but obviously don't want to lost that data when updating. Is there a step by step guide I can refer to in order to upgrade, save my channels and re-import?

Apologies if this is spelled out somewhere but this is all new to me!

F3S and F5S 7 day epg at last

Well it now gives you a 7 day epg as long as you have a usb pen connected , but you have to go to the Network Apps section and turn on AutoUpdate for Uk and download it 1st , then you can access the epg only through Network EPG and the Channel Guide isnt in the order you have the channels on your box .. Overall its a nice start hopefully soon you will be able to access EPG though the EPG button and in the right order ect

you can select dump to usb option in menu to save anything you wish to save.. then save it on ur pc an check the cccam.cfg file is there, open up with notepad and check the info you will need to reinstall is in there BEFORE you put any new f/w on your box.

First thanks for uploading the firmware on here. Its weird that the people that make these boxes, cant get their website to work faster.....tried to download but was taking forever.
I have loaded the firmware onto a box, F5s, reloaded my channel list, which i now have to rename...GRR!!! (No biggie), but all seems to work fine.

My question. I have tried the EPG network, and get the message, No Memory device or something similiar....... i usually connect to my network wirelessly. So is this network EPG only for those who have a wired connection? or is it possible to use a USB hub, to connect both my Flash Drive and my wireless adaptor?

You cannot use a USB hub on these receivers it will not be detected, your option is to hardwire ethernet and run USB stick as normal

Thanks for quick reply...... will try wired, see how useful epg is, then decide do i want wireless or epg. Box was an upgrade, from S10 Openbox, love how it plays MP4's
