    F3 won't update channel list

    Hi guys

i can't seem to update AJs channel list on my F3. When I add and upgrade the tp prog file it whizzes from 0-100% in no time and doesn't re-boot the box so doesn't update the channel list. What could be going wrong? I use a blank USB, do I need to delete the existing list? It's always upgraded before without me having to. Is it a firmware issue? I've had the box over a year and updated the channel list many times without fail before. Help much appreciated.

Try and reformat the USB stick (fat/fat32..........everything will be erased on the stick) and then try again, also make sure that the
name of the file is correct, ie: it should be called TP_PROG.dbs and not TP_PROG(1).dbs etc

Sometimes people forget to erase the old file and then Windows renames it to TP_PROG(1).dbs,2,3 etc whilst keeping the original file name
      of the old file.

Delete the file from your mem stick.

Go into your downloads and pick the .dbs file with the highest number if you have more than one. Copy it to mem stick, right click on it and rename it to TP_PROG.dbs

In simple terms remove the brackets and number. (1)

Internet explorer 10 puts files straight into downloads.

Internet explorer 9 gives you the option to select a destination.

You probably guessed by now, I tried Explorer 10 and went back to 9

just because it doesn't restart on its own doesn't mean it hasn't worked...if you have extracted the TP_PROG.dbs file put it directly onto the flash drive..not in a folder.

Once updated it should say Update OK...then reboot the box

            After it fly's across

press info on the remote...if all's gone right it will say

OK next to Tp_Prog....then you have to reboot the boot with the remote (don't switch it off at the wall) or else

You'll know when its done right on the countdown it will slowly update from 0-10% and then zoom all the way to 100%.

Try deleting the channels on your box first, then update by usb.

If you are deleting the channels first you will then have a blank list so any list you put on (upgrade) must just be the same as the original. Have you deleted the old TP_PROG from the mem stick and loaded the new file to it. Sounds like your just putting the old file back on.

All sorted now thanks to DW190 my file was numbered from transferring to the stick. Also as beeb2412 says it should go to 10% slow then whizz to 100% fast. I've never deleted the old list I've always overwritten with the new one and this has worked fine up to now.

If there are any numbers in the file name it wont upload. These numbers appear when you download a new channel file to the same folder as the last one you downloaded. You must select the overwrite option and not the save both as this gives the latter file a different name, ie. TP_PROG(1).DBS This file will not upload to the box. You can put it on the mem stick then remove (1)
